Welcome to my blog! This slightly crazy, silver-haired 73-year-old hit the road again, this time spending the entire summer traveling throughout Central and Eastern Europe, with a little of the UK and Ireland thrown in for good measure.

After a quick visit to New York City, I started my summer adventure by celebrating my birthday in Paris! Then it was off to Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland before heading to Madrid to once again teach conversational English to Spanish executives for 8 days.

But I’m not done!

A short flight brought us to the UK with a 4-day layover in London before a 10-day house/pet sit on the Isle of Man. Next was a quick visit to Dublin before flying back to Lisbon – where we boarded Holland America’s Veendam and enjoyed a 12-day Atlantic crossing with stops in The Azores, Newfoundland, St. Pierre, Nova Scotia, and Maine before docking in Boston on September 7th.

And why am I using the pronouns “us & we”? For the first time I was not traveling alone. I invited my good friend, Joyce, along as my traveling companion. She started by saying she would come for just one week – then two – then perhaps three. But what really sold her on the entire summer adventure was the return cruise home!

I will be returning to San Miguel de Allende, MX on or around the first of April.
